## Setup
In this chapter we will explain how you can configure AfterPay for your MultiSafepay connected webshop(s).

### Test or live mode
If you want to connect via MultiSafepay it`s not always necessary to start with a test key. This will be decided before the integration. As soon as you received a key from AfterPay it will be clear if a test or production key is shared.

### Configure test mode
At this point you should have received the API keys from AfterPay. If this is not the case you can reach out to your contact person at AfterPay or to [sales@afterpay.nl](mailto:sales@afterpay.nl). 

The key will be shared with you and also directly with MultiSafepay. MultiSafepay will respond to this mail with the confirmation that they configured the key. Please follow the instructions of MultiSafepay to make AfterPay accessible for you to start testing.

|**Note** - The orders that are send to our test environment are not processed, invoiced and paid. We recommend testing AfterPay in a non-publicly accessible test environment, in order to prevent real orders from coming in during the test phase. If this is not possible, we advise you to block the payment method based on IP address or clearly indicate that the payment method is in test mode if this is also not possible.|

## Setup
In this chapter we will explain how you can configure AfterPay for your CardGate connected webshop(s).

### Configure test mode
At this point you should have received the API keys from AfterPay. If this is not the case you can reach out to your contact person at AfterPay or to [sales@afterpay.nl](mailto:sales@afterpay.nl). 

To be able to start with AfterPay via CardGate, the payment option AfterPay must be activated within your CardGate account. If you have already stated this when registering, it is already active. If you want to have the payment option AfterPay active afterwards, this must be passed on to CardGate. You can send a message via My CardGate or call 088 12 62 888.

###Activate test account in your webshop
To be able to test, the test account (containing the payment method AfterPay) must be linked to your webshop. For this you can contact the CardGate support department. You can send a message via My CardGate or call 088 12 62 888.

To set up AfterPay in your webshop, you must send the email containing the necessary information to [afterpay@paypro.nl](mailto:afterpay@paypro.nl). ### Set up Adyen payment page
Paying with AfterPay is done via the (external) payment page of Adyen. By default, it is possible to adjust the billing and delivery address, as specified in the web store, on the payment page. To prevent fraud, changing address details must be made impossible.

You can do this by setting the variables billingAddressType and deliveryAddressType to 1 or 2.

1 = Address is visible but not editable

2 = Address is not visible and cannot be edited

## Introduction
This guide describes the steps to quickly install, configure, test and activate the AfterPay payment methods in your Magento 2 store. 

AfterPay offers 5 different payment options via Magento 2: 
- **14-day invoice** - This is the default 14-day invoice payment method in AfterPay. It is always available in every market where AfterPay operates. It is primarily meant for business-to-consumer sales.
- **Campaign invoice** - During peak seasons, such as Christmas, merchants may use campaign invoicing, which allows shoppers extended payment terms per purchase or a fixed due date.
- **Direct Debit** - This is a Direct Debit version of the 14-day invoice payment method Instead of receiving an invoice to be paid via their bank, the customer enters their bank details, and the money is immediately deducted from their bank account.
- **Instalments** - This is a Part Payment invoice. The customer can split their purchase over multiple monthly payments. 
- **B2B invoice** - This is the B2B consumer version of the default 14-day invoice payment method in AfterPay.

## Setup


In this chapter we will explain how you can install and configure AfterPay for your Magento webshop. 

### Installation

There are two ways to install our plugin. You can install the plugin via **SSH** through composer. This is the **recommended** way due to the availability of direct updates. Or you can install the plugin via the Marketplace. At the moment updates are not directly available through the marketplace as Magento is reviewing every release before they publish it. Having a magento webshop running with version 2 or above is a prerequisite.
 

#### SSH (recommended)
You can install the extension through [SSH](https://devdocs.magento.com/cloud/env/environments-ssh.html), using [composer](https://devdocs.magento.com/guides/v2.4/install-gde/install/cli/install-cli-sample-data-composer.html). Updates are directly available via SSH. 

**1)** Change the directory to project root/ folder, and run the following command to install and update the AfterPay module and dependencies:

```composer require arvato/afterpay-magento-2-extension```

**2)** Upgrade and flush Magento cache

```php bin/magento setup:upgrade
php bin/magento cache:flush```
 

#### Marketplace
You are also able to install the plugin via the Magento Marketplace. Due to the currently long release reviews by Magento the updates will only be available with delays. You can find the AfterPay extension [here](https://marketplace.magento.com/afterpay-afterpay-magento-2-metapackage.html).

### Basic settings
Please log into your Magento admin page and navigate to **Stores -> Configuration -> Sales -> Payment Methods**.

The AfterPay payment methods are split per country. Therefore, activate the AfterPay payment method based on the countries with the values shown below and from the mail you received from your AfterPay implementation consultant.

> **Important:** For backwards compatibility in The Netherlands and Belgium, Legacy SOAP payment methods are still included. Please do not use those unless specified otherwise by AfterPay.


**1)** Enable the 14-day invoice payment method. If you want to offer other AfterPay payment methods, make sure that the 14-day invoice payment method is enabled. 

**2)** Enter the maximum order value

**3)** Set Connection Mode to **Test** if you received a test key. If you created your own [Sandbox key via the developer portal](https://developer-sandbox.afterpay.io/) set the Connection Mode to **Sandbox**. You can find more information on our sandbox [here](/documentation/introduction/afterpay-sandbox/).

**4)** Enter the API key in the **Test API Key** or if you are testing, use sandbox in **Sandbox API Key**.

**5) (optional)** If you are testing the connection on your production environment you need to activate the IP restriction. The payment method will only be shown to the IP address that is entered in Magento. This will prevent customers from seeing the test payment method.

### Advanced settings (optional)

Advanced settings are **optional**. Everything is setup correctly as standard. Only for some special integrations it can be necessary to amend these settings. Be **careful** when changing these settings. Please contact your Implementation Manager when you are in doubt.

## Go-live
In this chapter we will explain which steps you need to take to enable the payment method on production. For the final go-live a contract between you and AfterPay is required. 

### Configure live mode

**1)** Make sure to completed the testing with your implementation consultant. Once you received the production key you can continue.

**2)** Make sure you configured the payment methods correctly on the production environment.

**3)** Enter the API key in the **Production API key**.

**4)** Set Connection Mode to **Production**.

**5)** Enable the payment method

### Advanced payment method settings

**1)** Chose a respective title and a tagline. This is very crucial in order to drive conversion for your webshop. Please follow the recommendations in our merchant playbooks: [Dutch](https://cdn.myafterpay.com/documents/Merchant-Playbook-NL.pdf), [German](https://cdn.myafterpay.com/documents/Merchant-Playbook-DE.pdf), [English](https://cdn.myafterpay.com/documents/Merchant-Playbook-EN.pdf) 

**2)** You are able to exclude AfterPay when a certain shipping method is selected. This can be useful if you are not able to send the shipping address to AfterPay.

**3)** Enable terms and conditions. Select **yes** to include check-boxes for AfterPay's own T&Cs and Privacy Policy at checkout. If you select **no**, make sure that you collect the customer's consent to the [AfterPay Terms and Conditions](https://developer.afterpay.io/documentation/terms-conditions/) and [Privacy Policy](https://developer.afterpay.io/documentation/legal-privacy-texts/) before the completion of the payment in your webshop!

**4)** Minimum order total. This is the minimum amount you have to put in your shopping cart to display AfterPay in the check-out. Leave empty to set no minimum amount.

**5)** Debug logfile. Select **yes** to write AfterPay specific application logs to the local logfile on your server. The path is shown beneath the drop-down. 

**6)** Debug email. Select **yes** to send AfterPay specific application error alerts to an email address.

**7)** Payment for applicable customer groups. You are able to enable this payment method for only the selected customer groups. 
 
**The following 3 settings** apply to prevent validation errors due to risk checks. Please, also refer to your merchant contract and to the [consumer information](/documentation/prepare-checkout/collecting-consumer-information/) section.

**8)** Enable phone number input field. If you enable this AfterPay will request this data after you choose the payment method. This can be useful if you are not already requesting this value in your check-out fields. If you already request this please disable this field.

**9)** Enable Birthday input field. If you enable this AfterPay will request this data after you choose the payment method. This can be useful if you are not already requesting this value in your check-out fields. If you already request this please disable this field.

**10)** Enable gender input field. If you enable this AfterPay will request this data after you choose the payment method. This can be useful if you are not already requesting this value in your check-out fields. If you already request this please disable this field.

### Order management settings
If you have to adjust the settings, do not forget to refresh the configuration cache in System => Cache management.



**1)** **Capture Modes** 
**- Manual** - It will only act upon the actions of the Magento back-end or the Magento API. This will give the best consumer experience.
This is applicable if you process orders manually in the back-end of Magento, process orders with an ERP connected to Magento or use the API of Magento. 
**- Yes, direct (current default)** - An invoice will be created and captured towards AfterPay immediately and communication will be send out three days after the automated capture was performed.
This is applicable if you have everything at stock and start processing the shipment immediately after the order is accepted.

**- Off** - Disable all communication regarding capturing and refunding towards AfterPay. For example an invoice will not have the option to 'online' capture the order.
This is applicable if you don't want any order management (captures / refunds) communication with AfterPay. For example if AfterPay has the auto-capture functionality enabled in the AfterPay back-end systems. 
**- Yes, at shipping** - After authorization, the order will be created and set to processing. But no invoice is created. This will be created and captured when a shipment is created. In case you can only ship when an invoice is created, then the configuration should be set to 'manual'. Then you will get an option for 'auto invoice creation', which should be set to 'yes'. Same as for the options "Force invoice state to PAID instead of PENDING" and "Force capture to be triggered by shipment".
This is applicable if you have different processing times of the shipment. This will be the default in the next release, because this setting is applicable for the majority of merchants. 
**- Yes, at selected status** - After authorization, the order will be created and set to processing. But no invoice is created. This will be created and captured when the order is set to the configured status.
This is applicable if you use order statuses, and want to use a specific order status to trigger capture.

**2)** **Auto invoice creation** - With this setting you can enable the automatic creation of invoice without capture being done. 
**3)** **Force invoice state to PAID instead of PENDING** - This option gives the possibility to set invoices to status PAID, instead of PENDING. This is particularly useful for cases you want to export paid Magento invoices, but do not want to have the invoice captured yet. 
**4)** **Force capture to be triggered by shipment** - This option gives the possibility to capture the order based on the shipment. You can create the shipment in Magento and based on that the invoice will be captured. 
Important note: A full shipment will trigger a full capture on the original invoice. A partial shipment will cancel the original invoice and create a new invoice based on the items selected in the shipment. This new invoice will get the status PAID. So if you use an export of invoices with the status 'paid' it should be certain not to import these new invoices again.

**5)** **Status Capture Request Accepted** - Assign the status that will be applied to the order after successful capture 
**6)** **Status Capture Request Refused** - Assign the status that will be applied to the order in case the capture is declined 
**7)** **Enable Refund** - Enable refunds towards AfterPay from Magento.

**8)** **Use Void For Cancelled Uncaptured Orders** - If you Cancel and order that it is not yet captured, that will trigger a Void request to be sent towards AfterPay. 
**9)** **Calculate Discount Per Item In The Cart** - With this configuration option you can choose to calculate the discount per order item line, instead of one discount order line. This is helpful if you are selling products in different VAT categories and uses discounts. In this way the correct VAT amount is discounted. 
**10)** **Error message timeout in ms** - With this configuration option you can decide how long an error message should be shown in the checkout. Error messages automatically disappears quite fast in the default Magento setup with this option you can adjust this behavior. 
**11)** **Allowed Developer IP** - Here the developer can fill in it's IP address if IP restriction is enabled, to make the payment methods visible only for this IP.

### Compatibility
The AfterPay Magento 2 module is tested up until version 2.4.3 of Magento 2.

Module version 2.0 and up is up to the new standards with Magento 2, and therefore more stable and useful. But it has a dependency which requires a minimum of Magento version 2.2.4.

Merchants who use a version older than Magento 2.2.4 can use version 1.9.1 of the AfterPay module, but we advise to update your Magento environment to the latest version to be able to use  the latest AfterPay module.

The compatibility is tested with the following external plugins:

AfterPay has developed a plugin that easily integrates with a WooCommerce webshop. It is a simple way to let your customers start using AfterPay at checkout.

##Introduction
This guide describes the steps to quickly install, configure, test and activate the AfterPay payment methods in your WooCommerce store. 

We offer 5 different payment options: 
- **14-day invoice** - This is the default 14-day invoice payment method in AfterPay. It is always available in every market where AfterPay operates. It is primarily meant for business-to-consumer sales.
- **Direct Debit** - This is a Direct Debit version of the 14-day invoice payment method Instead of receiving an invoice to be paid via their bank, the customer enters their bank details, and the money is immediately deducted from their bank account.
- **Fixed instalments** - This is a Part Payment invoice. The customer can split their purchase over multiple monthly fixed payments.
- **Flex payment** - This is a flexible instalment plan. Shoppers can alter the amount they are willing to pay every month in AfterPay’s customer portal. However, consumers are obliged to pay a monthly minimum as defined by AfterPay.
- **B2B invoice** - This is the B2B consumer version of the default 14-day invoice payment method in AfterPay.

## Setup

This document assumes you already have a working, configured WordPress site, with the WooCommerce extension installed. If you don't, you can download the software and learn how to use it [here](https://nl.wordpress.org/plugins/afterpay-payment-gateway-for-woocommerce/).

Many web hosting services have a backend tool that lets you install popular software packages with just a few clicks, and WordPress is often included in those.

In this chapter we will explain how you can install and configure AfterPay for your webshop.

### Installation

You can install the AfterPay plugin via the WordPress Marketplace, by searching from your Plugins tab in the WordPress Admin, or [here.](https://wordpress.org/plugins/afterpay-payment-gateway-for-woocommerce/)
After installing the plugin, make sure to activate it.
 

You are also able to install the plugin directly via the ZIP file.

### Upgrade the plugin
If you have installed the plugin via the WordPress Marketplace, it should update automatically.

### Basic settings

Each combination of a country (Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, etc.) and AfterPay payment method (14-day invoice, Direct Debit, Part Payment) is a separate payment method under the **Payments** settings. In some countries, there are also separate B2B payment methods for business-to-business (as opposed to business-to-consumer) sales - this accounts for different tax handling, etc.

You can have more than one payment method enabled in each country.

To configure your payment methods:

**1)** Open the WordPress Admin Panel. 
**2)** In the left-hand menu, go to **WooCommerce** > **Settings**, then select the **Payments** tab.
**3)** Flip the **Enabled** switch for a payment method to enable that combination. (Country and AfterPay payment method)
**4)** Click **Manage/Set up** next to a payment method to open its configuration screen.

**5)** **Test mode:**
-Select **Test** if you have already received a test API key from AfterPay. 
-Select **Yes - Sandbox** if you have created your own [Sandbox key via the developer portal](https://developer-sandbox.afterpay.io/).
-Select **No** to disable Test mode and to use the payment methods in Production set up.
If you are testing the connection on your production environment you need to activate the IP restriction. The payment method will only be shown to the IP address that is entered in WooCommerce. This will prevent customers from seeing the test payment method.

**6)** Enter your API key for the corresponding environment in the **API Key** field.

**7)** After you configure everything you want, click **Save changes** at the bottom.

### Tax settings

AfterPay assumes that your WooCommerce webshop already has the correct tax classes - the VAT categories and tax rates for your products. In some countries, certain items such as books, food, event tickets, etc. may have VAT rates that are smaller than usual, or even zero. These rules must be configured to ensure that AfterPay handles tax, invoicing and settlement correctly.

|**API Key**|The Auth key for transactions. You can get a test Auth key from your Key Account Manager. You must use a separate Auth key for each country, but you can use the same Auth key for each payment method in the same country.|
|**Lower threshold**|The minimum shopping cart value for which AfterPay will be available as a payment method. Value is in the country's local currency.|
|**Upper threshold**|The maximum shopping cart value for which AfterPay will be available as a payment method. Value is in the country's local currency.|
|**Test Mode**|Check this box to tell AfterPay that you are making test transactions. In Test Mode, customer verification/risk checks always return positive, transactions won't be rejected because the address is wrong, and the money will not be added to the merchant's settlement account. There will be no emails sent to the customer, and no Customer Portal where they can pay the invoice.|
|**Debug mail**|If you enter an email address here, the complete technical details of each AfterPay transaction in your webshop will be sent to that address.|
|**Show phone number**|Check the box to ask the customer for their phone number in the AfterPay section of the checkout page. If your WooCommerce checkout page is already configured to collect the customer's phone number, you can leave this unchecked. |
|**Show date of birth**|This setting should be enabled by **default**.|
|**Show gender**|Check the box to ask for the customer's title (Mr/Mrs, etc.) in the AfterPay section of the checkout page.|
|**Show terms and conditions**|Check the box to display AfterPay's Terms & Conditions text and checkbox in the AfterPay section of the checkout page. The content is provided automatically by the AfterPay plugin. The text will be in the country's local language, and specific to that country's legal requirements.|
|**Exclude shipping methods**|Do not show AfterPay if selected shipping methods are used.|
|**Use custom housenumber field**|Enter a custom label for the "House Number" field in checkout. Leave empty to use the default label.|
|**Use custom housenumber addition field**|Enter a custom label for the "Apartment Number" field in checkout. Leave empty to use the default label.|
|**IP restriction**|If you enter an IP address, this payment method will only be displayed to customers coming from that public IP address.This is useful in testing mode - you can show the payment method only to your own computer or office network until you are ready to go live. To find your current public IP, go to Google.com and type in "what is my ip".|
|**Enable captures**|If you check this box, the plugin will attempt to Capture the orders automatically. Do not check this box if you have a warehouse/stock management system that is separately integrated with AfterPay (using the same Auth key), and it sends the Capture call when an item is shipped, independently of the WooCommerce webshop.|
|**Way of captures**|Automatically after authorization - the plugin will make a Capture as part of the checkout process. Based on Woocommerce Status - the plugin will make a Capture when the order is set to a particular status in the webshop. (See below)|
|**Status to capture based on**|If Way of captures is set to Based on Woocommerce status, the plugin will capture the invoice amount as soon as the order is set to this status.|
|**Enable refunds**|Check this box to allow refunds from the webshop's backend interface. They will be processed by AfterPay. Otherwise, any refund to the customer will have to be handled entirely outside AfterPay. To refund an order via AfterPay, open your Wordpress Admin Panel and go to WooCommerce > Orders > click on an order > Refund. You will have two options: Refund manually (outside of AfterPay) and Refund via AfterPay.|
|**Refund tax percentage**|The VAT rate used when you make a refund via AfterPay. Because the AfterPay module can refund a given amount (but not individual invoice items), the VAT share of the original invoice amount needs to be handled correctly. If you have items that were charged at a non-standard VAT rate, use Refund manually.|
|**Compatibility with Germanized**|Check this box to use a Title (Mr/Mrs/etc.) field that's customized for German-speaking countries, instead of WooCommerce's generic Title field.|
|**Enable profile tracking**|Check this box to enable the Profile Tracking fraud-detection mechanism. Contact your Account Manager for more info about setting this up.|
|**Client ID for profile tracking**|Your unique ID for the Profile Tracking mechanism. This can be provided by your Account Manager.|

## Setup

This document assumes that you already have a working webshop that uses Shopware (version 6 or above). If you don't, you can download the software and learn how to use it [here](https://docs.shopware.com/en/shopware-6-en/getting-started).

### What you need

1. A **Shopware instance**, installed on your webserver.
2. An **API key**. 
- If you just want to try AfterPay without commitment, you can get one via the [Developer Sandbox](https://developer-sandbox.afterpay.io/).
- Test Mode credentials will be provided by your Implementation Manager at AfterPay. 
- When you are ready to go live, contact your Implementation Manager at AfterPay. They
will configure your webshop in the backend, and give you the real production API Key.

You will also need to include the **AfterPay logos and Terms & Conditions / Privacy Policy links** in your webshop's design, especially the Checkout page.

### Basic settings

Basic settings can be accessed from the Shopware main menu as follows:

You can access the system settings via the shop settings. In the selection that appears, select the item "Plugins".

You will now see all the plug-ins that you use or have used in the shop. Now call up the Config of the AfterPay plugin.

**1)** Mode - This setting determines whether the plugin
runs in Test or Live mode.

**2)** Autocapture - If activated, the plugin will trigger an
automated capture via cronjob based on current order status.

**3)** Capture order / payment / delivery statuses - This defines the order / payment / delivery status which will trigger an automated capture. 

**4)** Activate profile-tracking - Please only activate this when asked to do so by AfterPay.

**5)** Tracking ID - Enter the profile tracking ID assigned to you by your integration manager here.

**6)** Log - Defines the logging level. Log files will be stored in the plugin folder.

**1)** **AfterPay Production API Key** - X-Auth Key for live operation will be communicated by AfterPay.

**2)** **AfterPay Partner Test API Key** - X-Auth Key for test operation will be communicated by AfterPay.

**3)** **AfterPay Public Sandbox API Key** - X-Auth Key for the public sandbox. An API key for the public sandbox can be obtained from the following [link](https://developer-sandbox.afterpay.io/ ).

**4)** **AfterPay Merchant ID** - Only fill in if communicated by AfterPay. Used to customize terms and conditions displayed during checkout.

> **Note**, please ensure you add the API key in the correct country field!

Once you and your Implementation Manager are satisfied with the validation of account setup and testing, you will get a Live Auth key and can start offering AfterPay to your customers!

Note, you will only get the Live Auth Key after you have signed the contract with AfterPay.

**Congratulations!** You just went live with your AfterPay connection. Please **notify** your AfterPay Implementation Manager that you went live. If you encounter any issues in the upcoming week you can contact your AfterPay Implementation Manager. After that period you can contact our local Merchant desk for help.

### Introduction to the AfterPay Merchant Portal
You can go to the Merchant Portal [here](https://merchant.afterpay.io/). Once logged in, you will also see an in-depth guide on how to make the most of your portal.

In the merchant portal you can:
- View and mutate your AfterPay orders
- Get financial reports
- Set up your branding in the AfterPay systems

All orders placed are listed in the Shopware 6 backend under the menu tab "Orders". Here you
can get all the necessary information about the orders.

For each order, you can click on the 3 dots next to the respective order to display more detailed
information, delete the order and capture the order.

Under the "View" tab, you can get more information about a particular order and adjust its status.

In the "Details" section, you can see all the information about the order. In addition, the order statuses are displayed, which can be changed here.

In the "Status" section you can adjust the status of the order and see the old order statuses.

The plugin offers automatic as well as manual capture options:

- Automatic capture can be configured in the plugin settings. 

- Manual capture will be triggered via the order overview.

After a successful capture, the capture icon will disappear.

#### Auto capture

The automatic capture can be set via the Basic Configurations, described in the second chapter of this guide.


The option Autocapture must be activated. This is done by checking the checkbox. The above indicated statuses must be defined. Orders with statuses that match the configured Autocapture statuses will automatically be captured. If the status of an order differs from the defined statuses, the order will not be captured. Please note that this only applies to orders that were received after the Autocapture feature was activated.

### Scheduled tasks with cronjob

The AfterPay module for Shopware makes use of scheduled tasks to capture orders automatically. A 'capture' initiates the invoicing process towards the customer and should start after orders are being shipped. The scheduled task checks if orders are ready to be captured, and if so executes the capture request.

The scheduled task relies on the Shopware system and most probably are already configured on your Shopware environment because other modules make use of this as well. If not, or if you are not sure that this is done, it is best to take a look at the [Shopware documentation](https://docs.shopware.com/en/shopware-6-en/tutorials-and-faq/creating-scheduled-tasks). It describes how a scheduled task should be configured in your server environment.

If this is all configured, the AfterPay module will add an entry to the database table 'scheduled_task' identified as 'colo_afterpay.capture_payment_task', normally with the status 'scheduled' or 'queued'. If there is an issue with this scheduled task, then the status will be 'error'. And if so, you should look into the 'var/log' directory to see if there are any descriptions of the problem.
